Canisters! One of my go-to products when it comes to kitchens and pantries.
Marie Kondo — the Queen — we bow to you, and your canisters.
Made of natural ceramic clay with a bamboo handle, these are everything and more. They are great for flour, sugar and other dry ingredients.
They come in two colors (Cloud White and Ink Black) and three different sizes (small, medium and large), but I recommend sticking with one size and one size only. We are aiming for a clean, cohesive look, and having canisters of the same height will achieve that. The canisters pictured here are size medium (5-5/8″ W x 7-1/4″ H).
We custom make all of our labels, but Marie does have her own label collection at The Container Store and there are great options on Amazon.
Lastly, the days of brick-hard brown sugar are over. My client introduced me to Terracotta Gingerbread Woman and she is magic.
The key here is Terracotta. I don’t know how it works #science, but this will keep your brown sugar soft for 3-6 months. No more throwing out yet another bag of rock-hard brown sugar.
